On this recent project, we began by meticulously stripping away years of tired plaster to reveal the original stone walls beneath—each one telling a story of the building’s heritage. We didn’t stop there. By removing outdated floors and elevated ceilings, we transformed the space dramatically, uncovering and restoring majestic oak beams that had long been hidden from view. These once-forgotten timbers were carefully sandblasted to their original splendour and now stand proudly as a centrepiece of rustic elegance.

The transformation continued with a beautifully crafted new kitchen area that anchors the home in both functionality and style. We installed a full rewire to modern standards, along with an advanced MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) system that quietly enhances air quality and comfort throughout. A striking dual-aspect real fireplace now warms two rooms, combining contemporary design with cosy tradition. One of our more imaginative touches was the installation of a ‘false’ ceiling window in the hallway, an architectural sleight of hand that mimics the effect of natural daylight pouring in—bringing a bright, airy feel to what was once a dim transitional space.
